Family papers, 1891-1980.

These papers are primarily important for documenting college life in a predominately African-American school during the twentieth century. The collection consists of a videotape, 1/2", VHS, 1984, of Charles Johnson Dunn discussing his work at Alabama State University (ASU); a diploma, 1891, for Mary Agnes Jenkins, at the State Normal School at Montgomery, books, pamphlets, leaflets, photocopies of diplomas and other awards, 1922-1988; periodicals of various types, ASU basketball tournament and football game programs, 1963-1985; and the 1965 and 1981 annuals for Alabama State University. There are also about 30 photographs, almost all black and white, ca. 1940s-1980s, including pictures of Faustine Hamblin Dunn, Harper Councill Trenholm, Charles Johnson Dunn, and the ASU basketball team.
